Gary George Lovell, age 71, of Hudson, passed away July 1, from esophageal cancer. Gary was born on March 11, 1948, to parents George and Hilda (Langer) in River Falls, WI. After graduating from River Falls High School, he enlisted in the Navy and served from 1967-1971 in the U.S. Naval Security Group Activity primarily out of Japan. Upon returning to River Falls he attended and graduated from UW-RF. in 1977. He worked for Sperry/Unisys from 1977-1995, with most of his career in Human Resources. He worked as a realtor for Edina Realty in Hudson, WI, from 1999-2007. On June 11, 1977, he married Sharon Gettinger in River Falls, WI, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. They were blessed with three children Brian, Michael, and Laura.

Gary had many passions. In 1974, he was Legion Commander of Fletcher-Pechacek American Legion Post 121 in River Falls, WI. He belonged to bowling leagues, and golf leagues. He enjoyed fishing, and deer hunting. For over 20 years he was administrator, coach, and instructor for Youth American Bowling Alliance (Junior Bowling) in Hudson. He was a loyal Green Bay Packer Fan and Milwaukee Brewers Fan. He always enjoyed getting together and talking with friends and family.

Gary is survived by his wife, Sharon; their children Brian Lovell of New Richmond, WI, Michael Lovell of Stillwater, MN, Laura (Chad) Norton of Woodbury, MN, and grandchildren Finn & Raeya Norton; His mother Hilda Lovell of River Falls, WI, and sisters Patricia (Dave) Crist of Ft Myers Beach, FL, and Roxanne (Tony) Olson of River Falls, WI, Brother-In-Law Donald Gettinger of Stillwater, MN, and nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father George Lovell.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at church. Memorials to St. Patrick Church Hudson, WI, American Legion Post 121 River Falls, WI, or to the family are preferred.
