Gene Morrow

Gene Morrow, age 69, lifelong resident of River Falls, WI, passed from this life on February 25, 2023, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Gene was born on May 30, 1953, in River Falls, WI, the youngest son of Nicholas and Bernice (Schardin) Morrow. As a young boy, Gene learned not only the trade of farming, but also the work ethic from his father. He graduated in 1971 from River Falls High School. Gene would purchase his own dairy farm adjacent to the family farmstead.

Gene was strong in his faith, giving his life to Christ. He took an interest in mission work in Haiti and Jamaica building schools, churches, hospitals and sharing his love of God. Gene always looked forward to spending time with family. Many fond memories were spent on Sundays and special holidays at the homestead surrounded by family. He enjoyed fishing, going to plays, June Dairy breakfasts, tractor pulls, demolition derbys, socializing, and picking on his many nieces and nephews that held a special place in his heart. He had a gentle heart for animals, his two dogs (Missy and Buddy) giving him great joy in his life.

Gene is survived by his siblings Judy ,Morrow of River Falls, WI, Clair (Jan) Morrow of Cadott, WI, Joel Morrow of River Falls, WI. His nieces and nephews; Susan (Terry) Minder, Donna Christiansen, Dianne (Michael) Hell, Jennifer (David) Bradley, Sherry Crandell, Nicholas Morrow, Brian (Michelle) Morrow, Christina Hatella, Katherine Whiting, Samantha Morrow, Benjamin Morrow, Kasey (Matthew) Mayer, Jacob (Deborah) Morrow; and his many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.  Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Bernice, infant brother, Lowell, and brothers Tom and Sam.

Funeral service for Gene Morrow will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of River Falls, WI. The burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls, WI, following the service. There will be a luncheon at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home following the burial. Visitation will be 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Gene’s nieces and nephews will be pall-bearers.
