Gerald H. “Jerry” Strobush, age 80 of Woodville WI, died on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at his residence. Jerry was born April 29, 1936 to parents Helmuth “Jack” and Evelyn (nee Donkersgoed) Strobush. Jerry attended schools in Woodville, and graduated from Woodville High School with the Class of 1954. He would enlist in the Armed Forces, serving his country in the United States Army. Upon returning from Germany and being discharged from the military, Jerry would be united in marriage to Dorothy Nokken. To this union, three sons would be born. Their marriage would later dissolve. Jerry would remarry on March 11, 1984 to Judy Thatcher.
Many knew Jerry from his years of providing equipment sales and service through Badger Sales. He was a trusted resource for many area farmers. Jerry enjoyed time spent fishing and golfing. He was a quiet man of many talents. Jerry was a gifted woodworker, farm equipment repair man, and a builder who worked on all kinds of intricate projects. As a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jerry not only helped to build the church, but gladly served as handyman, where his craftsmanship can be seen all throughout the church.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy; children, Mike (Paula) of Neillsville WI, Randy (Nancy) of Anoka MN, Brian (Christine) of Prosper TX, Debbie (Wayne) Lorenz of Knapp WI, Denise (Scott) Brown of Knapp WI, and David (Michelle) Thatcher of Knapp WI; grandkids, Whitney (Bryce), Lacie (Justin and boys), Katrina, Liz, Brent, Olivia, Alexia, Isabella, Sarah, Grayson, Emma, Abby, Tim, Taylor, Corey, and John; brother, Victor (Wanda) Strobush of Bloomington MN; sisters-in-law, Edna Strobush of Rochester MN, and Mary Lou Hughes of Clear Lake WI; brother-in-law, Jerry Schutts of Knapp WI; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Evelyn Strobush; and his brother, Dale Strobush.
Funeral Services for Jerry Strobush will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2526 80th Avenue in rural Woodville WI, with Pastor Wayne Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church, beginning at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the discretion of the family.
