Jerry Yaritz, age 80, of Hudson, WI, passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2021 at Hudson Hospital.

Jerry was born on October 22, 1940 in St. Paul, MN to Joseph and Elizabeth (Tschida) Yaritz. He grew up in St. Paul, graduating from Cretin High School, the class of 1958. He began his collegiate career at St. Thomas University majoring in Engineering but eventually transferred to St. Cloud University where he met Regina Coran, and the two would later be united in marriage on October 7, 1961, and were blessed with four children: Joe, Chris, Gina, and Deb.  He then transferred to the University of Wisconsin – River Falls to pursue a Business degree while working at 3M.

Soon after, he began working for Juran & Moody investments for 28 years until the business sold and then worked for Piper Jaffrey. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying time hunting and fishing. His love for nature afforded him the opportunity to hunt and fish all around the world including Alaska, New Zealand, and Canada. When at home, he enjoyed gardening and spending time in his woodworking shop making furniture.  Jerry had a loving spirit and a kind heart. He was larger than life and the life of the party, often getting himself into messes along the way.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Regina; children: Joe Yaritz, Chris (Brenda) Yaritz, Gina (Jason) Graham and Deb (John) Schulz; and 6 grandchildren: Kiera, Tony, Emily, Kyle, Madison, and Colby. He is preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 16770 13th St. S., Lake St. Croix Beach, MN, with a visitation held one hour prior to the Mass at church. Masks and social distancing required. Gerald’s Memorial Mass will be livestreamed at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24th, please follow this link to view the livestream.
