Glen Joseph Buss

Glen Joseph Buss, age 92, of Prescott, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Glen Buss was born on November 30, 1932, to Leo and Margaret Buss and was raised on the family farm in River Falls, Wisconsin. Glen went on to serve in the Army National Guard. During his time in the service, he married the love of his life, Marlene, on December 29, 1953.

Together, they settled in Prescott, where they raised their family and built a life grounded in hard work. Glen was no stranger to labor; he work at Pine Bend, Afton Alps and Jacques Seed Company. He also spent three decades as a semi-truck driver before retiring. Glen was a small business owner. From 1976 to 1984, he proudly owned and operated Crystal Cave in Spring Valley.

Glen was a man of deep faith, a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prescott, Wisconsin. He remained closely connected with the Sisters of La Crosse, nurturing spiritual relationships that became an integral part of his life journey.

Glen found joy in elk hunting, fishing trips to Canada, and gardening. He really enjoyed being in his yard along with his beloved dogs, Suzie and Buster.

Above all, Glen treasured his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with them, whether it was sharing stories, cracking jokes or taking them on trips.

He will be greatly missed by all the lives he had touched over the years.

Glen is survived by his loving children: Nancy Schommer, Maria (Bruce) Dravis, and Jolene (Mark) Hasslinger; grandchildren: Luke, Quenton, Pete, Phillip, Brittany, Sophie, and Sonja; as well as nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, and his brother Kenny (Francis) Buss.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Glen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church: 269 Dakota St S, Prescott, WI, with Fr. Joseph Albert officiating. A Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., continuing until the time of Mass.
