It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Glenley Keith Olson Jr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, on May 11, 2026, at the age of 79, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinsons Disease. Born on January 16, 1947, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, Glenley lived a life rich in adventure, love, and laughter.
Raised in a military family, Glenley's early years were spent in various locations, from North Dakota to Wisconsin. Eventually, landing in River Falls, then neighboring city Hudson, graduating from Hudson High School. It was here in Hudson that Glenley planted his roots, sharing a loving life with his spouse, Darlene, and enjoying family time.
A natural-born mechanic, Glenley's passion for motorcycles began at a tender age, turning wrenches as a toddler and never looking back. His expertise in the field flourished as he immersed himself in the world of Honda and Harley Davidson motorcycles, working in various locations from St. Paul to Milwaukee, including running his own motorcycle shop, Total Performance Engineering, right in Hudson. His keen technical grasp combined with his innovative spirit allowed him to contribute to product development teams at Harley while dabbling in computer technology at home.
Those who knew Glenley will remember him not only for his mechanical prowess but also for his kindness and jolly disposition. He had a remarkable gift for bringing joy to others, often dressing up as Santa during the holiday season, spreading cheer and laughter to countless children. His festive spirit shone brightly, especially during Christmas, when his love for decorating with lights illuminated his home. He had a gentle soul, finding solace in nature and the local wildlife, taking great pleasure in feeding the birds that graced his yard.
Glenley is survived by his wife, Darlene, 2 children, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; plus, many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen Sr. & Kaia Olson; and stepson, Craig.
We will gather in remembrance with a visitation at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hudson, June 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. Family invites everyone to stay and have a bite to eat, after the service, while sharing memories.
