Glenora Louise Berres, a beloved daughter, mother, and friend, passed away on July 16, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on August 25, 1935, in Crookston, Minnesota, Glenora lived a life rich in love, laughter, and community, touching the lives of many during her journey.
Glenora cherished her experiences spending time on a family farm, where her connection to nature flourished. After graduating in 1953 from South St. Paul High, she met and married Charles Berres in 1959, their union produced three wonderful children whom she loved more than anything. In 1969, the family moved to Hudson, Wisconsin. Glenora grew deep roots in Hudson, where she was a parishioner at the same church for more than 50 years.
Glenora dedicated her professional life to the legal services industry, where she worked diligently as a secretary for West Publishing/Thomson Reuters. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Glenora was an active member of her community, sharing her joy and talents through square dancing, bell choir performances, and participation in her local YMCA group. She loved to travel, often embarking on adventures with friends that took her as far as Europe.
Glenora leaves behind cherished memories with those who loved her most, including Son Steve (Louise) Berres; their children Christine, Laura, Stefanie, Elizabeth, Mathew; Daughter Dai (John) Berres-Green; their children Arianne, Benton, Colton, Ariel; Daughter Dawn (Paul) Merilatt; their children Amber, Ashley, Elias, Spencer; and Daughter-in-love, Juli Smothers, plus 10 Great-Grandchildren, close friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her Parents Glen & Alice ; Grandson Zachariah
A celebration of Glenora's life will take place on July 19, 2025, at the Hudson United Methodist Church - 1401 Laurel Ave. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Memorial service at 11:00 AM. Guests are invited to join the family for a luncheon after the service in honoring Glenora's spirit, where stories and laughter will surely be shared, echoing her vibrant life.
