Harvey LeRoy Moe age 98, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at the Baldwin Care Center.
He was born on December 20, 1927, at Baldwin Hospital. The son of Carl Henry Moe and Mildred Beatrice Christensen Moe.
Harvey was baptized at the Rush River Lutheran Church and confirmed at the Baldwin Lutheran Church.
Harvey graduated from Baldwin High School in 1946. After graduation Harvey went to work for the Vandeberg Ace Hardware Store in Baldwin.
On October 25, 1950, he was drafted into the US Army. Harvey’s basic training was at Camp Cook in CA and on April 1, 1951, he was sent to Japan for nine months. And on January 6, 1952, he was sent to Korea. At the end of May 1952, he became ill and was sent to an Army Hospital in Osaka, Japan. He was diagnosed with the Korean Virus and was sent back to the US to Camp McCoy, WI and was honorably discharged August 23, 1952.
Harvey and Lorraine Isabel Jacobson were united in marriage on November 1, 1952, at Woodside Lutheran Church by Rev. Frederick Dahl. To this union were born two sons Gregory Allen and Robert Steven.
For 38 years he worked at Vandeberg Ace Hardware and for 17 years for the St. Croix Electric Cooperative in Baldwin and Hammond.
He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, vacationing at lakes in Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota when the children were young. Lorraine and Harvey enjoyed two trips to Hawaii with family and visiting many of the US States. Harvey really enjoyed every two-year Army reunion in different parts of the country.
Harvey’s other interests were working on his Family Genealogy and helping at the Baldwin Historical Society.
Survived by son Robert (Dr. Terri Wollan) Moe; grandchildren Heidi (Dr. Doug Green), Aaron Moe, Chad (Anne) Moe, Dana Moe Stenger (Jeff Stenger), Yvonne Moe Olson (Greg Olson), & Kelsey Moe; great-grandchildren Ella Green, Jordan Moe, Jackson Moe, Teagen Wynveen, Catelyn Moe, Aubrey Moe, Elizabeth Stenger, Tyler Stenger, Taylor Stenger, Kora Olson, Chloe Olson, Jadyn Olson, Alexa Ottum; brother-in-law; Arnold Jacobson and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife Lorraine; son Gregory; brother Allen; brothers-in-law Harold Jacobson, Allen Jacobson, Clyde Jacobson, John Jacobson.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 13 at 4 PM with visitation 3 PM to 4 PM at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Baldwin. Private interment Woodside Cemetery.
Harvey really enjoyed his years at the Baldwin Care Center, especially his time visiting with Sheila at the front desk.
