Hazel Ann Hoytink

Hazel Ann Hoytink, age 92, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Baldwin Care Center. Hazel was born on July 15, 1926, the daughter of Henry & Annie (VanSomeren) Brummels. She attended & graduated from Baldwin High School, & was a baptized, lifetime member of First Reformed Church in Baldwin. On October 9, 1945, she was united in marriage to William Hoytink at the First Reformed Church in Baldwin, WI. Hazel & Bill shared nearly 70 years of devotion & faith before Bill’s passing in 2014.

Hazel took pleasure in anything outdoors. She maintained flowers in her garden, took great pride in her lawn, & helped Bill on the family farm. She was also incredibly proud of her faith, & was an active member of the First Reformed Church.

Hazel will remain in the hearts of her children, Roger (Bette) Hoytink, and Roxanne (Steve) Geurkink; grandchildren, Todd (Nicole) Hoytink, Ryan (Heather) Hoytink, Garett Geurkink and Lindsey Geurkink; great-grandchildren, Joel, Grace, Lily, Graham, and Alexandra; as well as nieces, nephews, other extended family and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hoytink; parents, Henry and Annie; sisters, Dorothy (Harl) Wubbels, Phyllis (Gerald) Hop, and Eleanor (Everett) Boldt; and sister-in-law, Minnie (John) Omann.

Funeral Services for Hazel will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 5, 2019 at First Reformed Church of Baldwin, WI, with a visitation from 9:30 to 11 AM. Interment will take place at the Baldwin Cemetery.

Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, WI.
