Helen Joan Stone

Helen "Joan" Stone was born October 11, 1933, in St. Paul, MN, to John Joseph and Edith May (Bower) McGuire. Joan passed away very peacefully on August 31, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by family.

Joan is survived by her husband, Arvid Stone; her children, Matthew (Donna) Stone, Martin (Amy) Stone, Patricia (Doug) Whitman, Clarissa (Bob) Evanoff; son-in-law, Kevin Lokkesmoe; Twenty-four grandchildren; Twenty-six great grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Merlin and Arlys Stone; plus, many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joan is preceded in death by her daughter, Maureen Lokkesmoe; her parents, John and Edith McGuire; her siblings, Frank "Mickey" McGuire (Pat), Br. Martin "Johnny" McGuire - OSC, Mary Kay (Floyd) Quimby, Marjorie “Marcia” "Midge" (George) Young, Fr. Richard "Spankie" “Ricky” McGuire - OSC; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floyd (Ramona) Stone, Marvin (Annalee) Stone, Betty (Gilmore) Murphy, Marilyn (Richard) Flanders, Myrna Lou Stone; nieces, Candice Stone and Brenda Myers.

Joan's funeral service will be Friday, September 11th at 11:00AM at Valley Baptist Church 860 St. Croix TrI. S., Lakeland, MN 55043.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, and a light lunch will be served following the service.
