Ilene Moelter

Ilene Moelter, age 87, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at her residence in Hudson, WI. Ilene was born on November 21, 1931, in Baldwin, WI, the daughter of John and Helen (Wikkerink) VanSomeren. She attended Hopyard & Happy Valley grade school, and graduated from Baldwin High School. On October 25, 1952, she was united in marriage to Lyle W. Moelter at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson, WI. Their union was blessed with two sons, Mark and Greg. Ilene and Lyle enjoyed many years of devotion and faith until Lyle’s passing in 2014.

Ilene loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she supported them, and taught them to always be thoughtful and patient. She also enjoyed various outdoor activities such as: camping, fishing, and working in her gardens.

Ilene will remain in the hearts of her sons, Greg (Kathy) Moelter of Hudson, and Mark (Jeanne) Moelter of River Falls; grandchildren, Brittney (Josh) Bergstrom, Brooke (Josh) Ahlert, Hollye Gainey; great-grandchildren, MiKayla, Amara, Audrey, and Felix; sister, Laura-Mae (Pieter) Meersma; brother, Louis (Audrey) VanSomeren; as well as nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle Moelter; parents; John and Helen VanSomeren; and sisters, Rozella Erickson and JoAn VanSomeren.

Mass of Christian Burial for Ilene will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at St. Patrick Catholic Church of Hudson, with a visitation held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery of Hudson following Mass.
