Jacqueline Ann Gantt

Feb 6, 1948 — Aug 28, 2026

Baldwin

Jacqueline Ann Crippen Gantt passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus early morning on Friday, August 28th, 2026, at the Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin, WI. Jackie, as she was known to her family and friends, is now reunited with her beloved husband, James Gantt; her parents, Larry and Lillian Crippen; her sister, Barbara Crippen; and step-sons, Michael Gantt and James Gantt.

Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Jackie graduated from Mary Manse College in 1970. She began teaching elementary school in Sylvania, Ohio. She met the man she would later marry when they both worked summers at the Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky Ohio. She left teaching to focus on raising her family.

Jackie and Jim lived in Bellevue, Ohio, where their daughter Peggy Jean Gantt, and son Paul Andrew Gantt were born. Moving to Wisconsin for an exciting employment opportunity, they soon added Jennifer Sue Gantt (Berning) to the family. Being very dedicated to her family, Jackie remained a stay-at-home mom until the early 1990’s. Her children fondly remember her taking them to the Frederic pool or their favorite beach on Coon Lake in their early childhood.

Jim’s untimely death in 1999 was heartbreaking for Jackie, but she continued raising their children working at the Baldwin Care Center, and then later Walmart in Hudson, WI, where she retired from in 2013. Jackie was strong in her faith to God, and she sought and received comfort at her church, Harvestime Outreach in Hudson, WI. (Formerly known as Church of the Holy Cross)

Her family and friends will long remember her infectious laugh and calm, easy-going manner. She loved nature, especially the Rocky Mountains and Lake Superior. Jackie loved to minister and teach children. She was known by many as “Grandma Bunny”. Had her health not betrayed her she would have spent her time enjoying her children, step-grandchildren, friends, and neighbors for many years to come.

Jackie is survived by her daughters, Peggy Gantt and Jennifer Gantt Berning (husband Lynn); her son, Paul Gantt (wife Christine Morgan); step-son, John Gantt; step-daughter, Judith Gantt Bumgardner; sister, Susan Crippen (Southport NC); step-grandchildren, Bailey Berning, Kaleb Berning (wife Mercedes), and Chloe Berning.

The family asks that memorials in Jackie’s name be sent to Harvestime Outreach Church or St. Croix Hospice. Services will be this Thursday, September 3rd, 2026. Visitation is 11:00AM to 1:00PM, with Funeral Service at 1:30PM, followed by a Graveside Memorial at Hammond Cemetery.
