James “Jim” Lewis Dodge, age 74, of Prescott, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
Jim was born on April 16, 1952, in Eagle River, Wisconsin, to Jack and Jeanne Dodge. He grew up in Prescott, Wisconsin, where he attended high school. Following school, Jim began working at 3M, where he spent his career as a factory worker.
Jim went on to meet the love of his life, Brenda, and the two were united in marriage on March 19, 1977. Together, they built a life centered around their family. Jim was a devoted father, and his children truly became his entire world. He was a selfless man who gave everything he could to his family and always made sure his children knew how deeply they were loved. His advice to them was often simple but memorable: “Keep your heads plugged in and screwed on tight.”
Music was another great love in Jim’s life. A talented guitarist and vocalist, he played in several bands throughout the years, with his last being Wicked Blue. Jim performed locally and throughout the Twin Cities area, including at Rockin’ on the River. When Jim stepped onto a stage, another side of him came alive. The otherwise simple and carefree man carried himself with a newfound confidence behind a microphone and guitar. Over the years, his stage presence even earned him the fitting nickname, “The Reverend Dodge.”
Before becoming a father, Jim also enjoyed riding motorcycles. Once his children came along, however, his priorities changed, and family always came first. Jim never needed an extravagant life to be happy. He lived simply, enjoyed the things and people he loved, and found his greatest purpose in being a father and grandfather.
Jim will be deeply missed by his children, Tom (Melanie) Dodge, Sara Dodge and James Dodge; his grandchildren, Katelyn, Ethan, Aubrey, Dustin, Dylan, Marcus, Cora, and Jaxson; as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda; his son, Eric; his parents, Jack and Jeanne Dodge; his brother, Gary Dodge; and his sister, Rita Stern.
