James R. Margenau

James R. Margenau, age 61, of Hudson, WI, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2015.

Jim was born on September 30, 1953 in Ashland, WI to Leroy and Catherine (Dufek) Margenau. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1971, and graduated from UW-Superior and later UW-Eau Claire with degrees in Music and Biology. He met his wife, Peggy at UW-Superior, and they were united in marriage on June 29, 1985.

Jim loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. He was also passionate about music, and enjoyed teaching Junior High Science at St. Patrick’s School, up until his recent retirement on June 5, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy of Hudson, WI; children: Melanie, Amanda, and Molly; brother, Terry (Lorna); sister-in-law, Mary Jo (Dennis) Thaden; brothers-in-law: James (Kathy) Shaffer, David (Sheila) Shaffer, and Sam Shaffer; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson with a Memorial Service concluding the evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
