James “Jim” R. Sutter, age 63, of Hudson, WI, passed away on August 25, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. Cancer robbed his family of many more years of memories.
Jim was born on October 29, 1951 in Northfield, MN to Charles and Leontine (Hamann) Sutter. Jim attended Sacred Heart High School in Waseca, MN.
He was a proud member of Twin Cities Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Local #1, and worked in commercial construction most of his life. He was a skilled handyman in many other areas, and always had home remodel projects going on.
On October 3, 1987, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Denise R. Wolterstorff in Hastings, MN.
The thing Jim enjoyed most in life was spending time with his family and friends. Jim was an avid fisherman and golfer. He liked riding his Harley, he was a NASCAR fan, and was a closet artist; enjoying photography and oil painting. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching old westerns.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Denise; children: Leah Sutter, Kari Sutter (Elix), Charles (Amanda) Sutter, April (Michael) King, grandchildren: Kierra, Michael Jr., Mila, Olivia, and a baby boy due in October. Also survived by siblings: Nancy Severson, Theresa Johnson, and David (Kim) Sutter; in-laws: Herb and Dorothy Wolterstorff, Linda (Tom) Biever, Steve (Lynn) Wolterstorff, and Deb Grohs (Brian); many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and Patch – his loyal Jack Russell. He is preceded in death by his parents and infant twin daughters, Jennifer and Valerie.
A Memorial Service with a balloon release for Jim will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, with a gathering from 2:00-4:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
