Janet Ruth Hager

Janet Ruth Hager, age 88, of Bay City, WI died September 27, 2018 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City, WI. She was born on October 11, 1929 in Ellsworth, WI to Milton and Ruth (Glaus) Hulverson. She was a graduate of Ellsworth High School class of 1948. Janet met her future husband Francis Hager at a dance and they were married on September 14, 1948 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plum City. Their union in marriage would be blessed with six children, fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and 69 years of love and devotion.
Janet was a devoted farm wife working alongside Francis and being a homemaker and mother to her six children. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Janet loved to bake, and her family loved her homemade bread and chocolate chip cookies. Being a farm wife she also did lots of canning of vegetables and fruit. Janet will be remembered as a caring and loving wife, and a wonderful mom and grandma.
Preceding Janet in death are her parents, Milton and Ruth Hulverson; husband, Francis; two sons, Michael and Paul Hager; granddaughter, Heather Hager; brother, Robert Hulverson; sister, Millie Stockwell.
Janet is survived by her children, Douglas (Mary) Hager, Roxanne (Robert) Pechacek, Charles (Lou) Hager, Judith (Steven) Foley; her grandchildren, Marghet, Bettina, Aaron, Matthew, Thomas, Ashley, Nathan, Drew, Brittany, Joshua, Ethan, Meghan, Ryan; thirteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial for Janet will be 11:00am Friday, October 26, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 200 Church Road, Plum City, WI. Gathering of family and friends will be 10:00-11:00am prior to Mass also at the church. Private family interment will be at Clayfield Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
