Janith Huberty was a true people person — warm, caring, and deeply devoted to her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Born in Elmwood, Wisconsin, to Arnold and Marguerite Geiger, Janith moved with her family as a young girl to St. Paul, Minnesota. It was there that she met the love of her life, Raymond Huberty. They shared 49 beautiful years of marriage and were blessed with six children. The couple began raising their family in St. Paul’s Midway area before moving to River Falls, Wisconsin, in 1984, where they spent the rest of their lives together.
Janith’s greatest treasure was her family. A natural caretaker, she poured her heart into caring for those she loved. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and she dedicated her life to creating joy and lasting memories with them. She loved shopping, sewing, crafting, and gardening — hobbies she happily shared with her children and grandchildren.
Janith had a special gift for connecting with people. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and quickly made others feel welcome and valued as she learned about their lives and backgrounds. In St. Paul, she extended her loving care by providing daycare in her home. The neighborhood children affectionately called her “Mama Jan,” a name she cherished deeply.
After her own children were grown, Janith combined her passion for sewing with her love of people by starting a business selling teddy bears and other stuffed animals. She enjoyed attending craft fairs, where her warm personality shone. She later took up quilting and genealogy, and she and Ray loved traveling together to small towns across the United States. She also held especially dear memories of her trips to Luxembourg and Norway — the lands of her family’s origins.
Janith is survived by her children: Cheryl Ann Huberty, Michelle Travers, Raymond Huberty Jr., Margaret (Randall) Parker, William (AmyJo Most) Huberty, and Janith (Robert) Frederick; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Geiger. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Huberty; her parents, Arnold and Marguerite Geiger; her brothers, Gerald Geiger and Rodger Geiger; and her granddaughter, Kimberly Travers.
A casual Celebration of Janith's Life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 1:00–5:00 PM at Ridgetop, W10516 US Highway 10, Prescott, WI 54021. Come anytime and stay as long as you like. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider making a donation to your favorite charity in Janith's honor.
