Jean Ann Kittelson

Jean Ann Kittelson age 88 of River Falls died peacefully November 1, 2021 at Comforts of Home in River Falls. Jean was born April 4, 1933 in Madison Wisconsin; the daughter of Eva Heutmaker. She was raised in Glenwood City graduating with the class of 1950. She would meet the love of her life, Harris B Kittelson and the two would walk down the isle on September 2, 1952 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Glenwood City. To this union, four children were born. Although Jean loved being wife and mother, she did work outside the home. Earlier in life, she worked as a surgical tech for the Shriners Children’s Hospital in the Twin Cities. More recently, many might remember as the friendly face in the kitchen as a cook for school District 622 in North St. Paul. Sadly, Harris would precede her and death in 2008.

Jean was a devout Catholic and used her faith as the cornerstone of her life, especially in raising your family. She was a proud den mother for the scouts and rarely missed a sporting event of school of her children as she loved to watch her boy’s hockey and baseball games. As a young baker, she loved creating wedding cakes for family and friends. Most likely her favorite holiday was Easter, as she always looked so forward in celebrating Christ’s Resurrection and being surrounded by family by putting on a feast. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and her family always loved her bountiful fresh produce or canned goodies in the winter. Her canned peaches and her pies were family favorites. She enjoyed relaxing by embroidery as she shared beautiful pillowcases and table runners with those close to her She was known to shake a leg with Harris as they loved polka dancing. Furthermore, she enjoyed giving back to her community through the St. Bridget PCCW women’s group and as an election judge for River Falls and Maplewood, Minnesota.

Jean will live on in the hearts of her children Mary (Gary) Hayes, Wayne Kittelson, Paul Kittelson, grandchildren Jolene (Robert) Riley, Kimberly (Tony) Eiden, Great grandchildren Dalon, Keira, Alexa, Jaslin, Anthony; great great grandchildren Carter, Briella, Paris, Caitlyn, Mason, Dream; step grandchildren Gary (Mary), Debbie (Curt), Kelly; step great grandchildren Rachel, Shannon, Chase, and Allison. She is preceded in death by her husband Harris and son Bennie.

Mass of Christian Burial for Jean Ann Kittelson will be 10AM Tuesday November 9th at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass. Funeral and cremation services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of River Falls.
