Jeffrey Allen Moody

Jeffrey Allen Moody, lovingly known as Jeffrey Allen Bearheart, age 55, passed suddenly on January 15, 2026, in Loma Linda, California, due to complications from a massive stroke. Born in Cumberland, Wisconsin, on May 8, 1970, Jeffrey's journey through life was marked by warmth, compassion, and an undeniable love for animals and family.

Growing up in the picturesque towns of St. Paul, Marine on St. Croix, and Oak Park Heights, Minnesota. He graduated from Stillwater High School in 1988, embarking on a new adventure, first moving to New Mexico for college and then to California in 1991. Jeffrey's love for the Golden State would lead him to live in San Francisco, Sacramento, Pleasanton, and Desert Hot Springs before settling in Palm Springs in 2012, a place he often called paradise for its stunning climate and vibrant vibes. His final years were spent in Loma Linda, where he continued to spread joy to those around him.

Jeffrey's kind spirit shone brightly through his countless animal rescues, as he opened his heart and home to several shelter dogs throughout his life. His unwavering compassion left a lasting impact on all those fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Lorraine (AKA Lorie) Moody; his sister, Joye Stoor; and his brother, Nick (Jenny) Moody. He leaves behind cherished nieces Micah Stoor and Hannah Moody, as well as nephews Isaac and Adam Stoor, Jack, Doug, and Tim Moody. Jeffrey will also be remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and close friends, all of whom carry fond memories of his gentle spirit.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his biological father, Timothy Bearheart; his father since the age of 9, Gary Moody; along with several beloved grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

A memorial service in Jeffrey's honor will be held at O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, Wisconsin, on June 29, 2026, at 11 AM, with a visitation one hour prior. All who knew and loved Jeffrey are warmly invited to join the family for a meal after the service, where they will serve some of Jeff's favorite dish - lasagna.
