Jennifer Peterson

April 7, 1950 — October 22, 2025

Maiden Rock

Jennifer Lauranne Peterson is survived by her Brother Marshall (Charlotte) Smith, and cousins Rick and Bill Stubbs.

She is preceded in death by her Mother Jean Kenting, and Father Marshall Harrison Smith.

Her Earthly birthday was April 7, 1950, and your heavenly birthday was October 22, 2025. That means she walked this Earth 27,592 days.

She had good days. She had bad days. She had really good days. But through all of her days she walked in the promises of her Lord and savior.

Jeremiah 29 scripture tells us that God knows the span of your life before you were formed in the womb. He knows the hairs on your head, the thoughts in your mind and the houses you will live in on this earth. He had a plan and it was for good.

Her life with Gary and The Business of hospitality at Maiden Rock Inn was part of his good plan. What a testament to HIS goodness as they TOGETHER welcomed and fed so many people.

Romans 8 tells us that we know that God causes everything to work together for the goodness of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

God certainly had a purpose for Jennifer and she, with all her talents and abilities, lived out that purpose. She lived in a way that showed her love for her Savior, people and animals. Oh how she loved her animals. The farm was a special place for her and she delighted in tending to her animals. It was there, in her last years, that she found contentment. She was a doting mother to an entire flock.

She was Curious by nature and that led her to be a student of all things that interested her. and study she did. This manifested in a deep desire to live life with purpose. a life that honored the earth and its natural ability to heal and create wellness. She was an educator eager to share all that she had learned. She was incredibly knowledgeable about natural science, things related to health and wellness, music, cooking, and the list goes on and on.

She was a born nurturer and loved deeply. Well she did not have children of her own; her spirit was very maternal to many. She showed genuine compassion and empathy. She had a way of looking you right in the eyes and being very present. If she called you honey, you knew you were a part of her circle. She showed up for her friends and her friends showed up for her. She loved Gary, her family, her friends and God.

In her spiritual journey there were times when she strongly felt the presence of God and other times felt far away from Him. In Ephesians 1 it says that even as he chose us in him before the foundation of this world that we should be blameless and holy before Him. In love he predestined us for adoption as Sons and Daughters through Jesus Christ according to his will and purpose. Jennifer is the Beloved daughter of Jesus Christ and no longer does she feel that God is far away but is now held in his arms.

And even if we believe her life was too short with us Philippians 1:6 says that he is certain of this, that God who began a good work in you will continue his work until it is finished. We have the assurance that Jennifer completed her good work. She now resides in heavenly places.

In Corinthians 2 it is written that what no I had seen, Nor Ear heard, nor the heart of man has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. But now Jennifer has. Hallelujah!

But what of those left behind, miss her so much and are trying to heal the void she has left in her absence. God has spoken to us and Psalm 34 where it is recorded that the Lord hears his people when they call for help. He rescues them from all of their troubles. The Lord is close to the Brokenhearted and rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Matthew and the Beatitudes reminds us that God blesses those who mourn for they will be comforted.

So we will mourn because we loved her. we will miss her easy laugh. Her funny facial expressions and the personality that was undeniably and uniquely hers. We live in the assurance that someday when the Lord returns, resting bodies will reunite with our spirits and be glorified and made whole. We will be together again where there are no tears, no cancer, no pain, no worry, no insecurities, no guilt. We will be enveloped in God's love. Jennifer walked out her 27,592 days on Earth and completed her work; she is now in heaven for all eternity. ETERNITY. an infinite number of days that she will live and we will meet up with her again.

I pray that God, the source of Hope, will find you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. I'm certain that is what Jennifer would want for us.
