Joan E. Rodel

Joan Eileen Rodel, age 83, of Hudson, WI, passed away on September 29, 2020 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN

Eileen was born February 18, 1937 in New England, ND to Paul Edward and Kathryn (Fitterer) Gardner. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in New England, ND, went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma, and later a master’s degree in Chemistry and Mathematics from Marquette University.

On November 15, 1969, she was married to Bernard Nicholas Rodel. Their marriage was blessed with two children: Paul Michael and Ann Mary.

She is survived by her husband, Bernie Rodel, of Hudson, WI; children, Paul Rodel of Astoria, NY and Ann Rodel of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Hope Kathryn Rodel-Kokoris and Philip Alois Rodel-Kokoris, both of Astoria, NY; and her brothers, Patrick John Gardner of Madison, FL and Thomas George Gardner of Tucson, AZ.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother as well as her sister Rose Margaret (Peggy) Gardner.

A Celebration of Life for Eileen will take place at a later date. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bird Island, MN.
