Joan Etta Wagner

Joan Etta Wagner, age 88, of Baldwin, WI, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. She was born on November 26, 1936, in Bismarck, ND.

Joan was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a skilled homemaker who enjoyed quilting, crafts, cooking, and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Her holiday candies were a family favorite, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to others.

On October 31, 1954, Joan married the love of her life, Martin Wagner. Together they built a beautiful life and started a loving family.

Joan is survived by her sons Kim (Teresa) Wagner, Lynn (Ruth) Wagner, Wayne (Sonia) Wagner, and Joey (Chris) Wagner; grandchildren Troy (Angie) Wagner, Adam (Jodi) Wagner, Traci Wagner, Amy (Allen) Nelson, Wade (Amy) Wagner, Samantha Wagner, Michael Wagner, Cody (Rachel) Wagner, and Dakota (Melissa) Wagner; great-grandchildren Alison, Brandon, Caitlynn, Evelyn, McKayla, Mason, Tru, Walker, Clayton, Freya, Dawson and Jase; great-great-grandchild Grayson; and her brothers Kenneth (Gloria) Snyder and Gerald (Vivian) Snyder.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Martin Wagner; parents Kenneth and Lucille Snyder; brother Dean Snyder and special friends Mavis Shell and Darlene Snyder.

A celebration of Joan’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, at O’Connell Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Services in Baldwin, WI. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m.

Joan will be remembered for her strong spirit, love for family, and the many ways she made life better for those around her.
