Joann D. Lomnes

JoAnn D. Lomnes, age 81, of Hudson, WI, died on October 19, 2022 at Christian Community Home in Hudson, WI.

JoAnn was born on January 17, 1941 in Hudson, WI to George and Edith “Babe” ( Sweet ) Jahnke. After high school, she began working at Andersen Windows, and after retiring and moving to New Richmond, started working as a laundromat caretaker. JoAnn was a happy, caring, funny, and kindhearted person. She had an intensely loving soul, and was incredibly generous to her family and friends, always caring about them over herself. She loved to shop, especially at the Red Barn, Goodwill, and Dollar Store in New Richmond. When she moved to Christian Community Home, she frequently attended their weekly Friday happy hours and enjoyed  weekly BINGO games and being involved in the many activities offered at the CCH . She also enjoyed attending the bake sale and preparing baked goods at Christian Community Home, and buying some to gift to her family.

She is survived by her son, Kip (Michelle) Lomnes; grandchildren: Janelle (Nathan) Sobol, Jason Schwartz, Jessica Sherwood, and Jeffrey Prather; and great-grandchildren, Isaac and Lauren Sobol. Preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jana Jahnke; and brother, Jeff Jahnke.

Private family graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls, WI.
