John Stewart Everson age 80 of Hudson, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, with the love of his family surrounding him. .
John was born on January 4, 1946, to parents Alfred and Helen (Cramer) in Hudson. John grew up in Hudson and attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School and Hudson High School.
On May 3, 1980, he and Julie Wright were married in River Falls. They made their home in Hudson.
For over 37 years, John worked in Bayport at Andersen Window’s. Starting in 1965 and retiring in 2002.
John enjoyed hunting and fishing, and the days of snowmobiling out west in Wyoming during the winter months. He would so look forward to trips to Hayward with his family, you could say that Hayward was his "happy place". He loved attending all the grandkids sporting events and took great pride in watching them do what they loved to do. He had a love for basketball like no other and was always watching some game. He never saw a Corvette he didn't like and even owned a couple of them. He enjoyed listening to Elvis and watching the Green Bay Packers! He was known for never having a hair out of place, pretty sure he kept Aquanet in business all these years. His family was everything to him, you could see the pride in his face whenever they were all together.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Julie; three children Christine (Joe) Carufel, John (Amanda) Everson, and Jim (Lisa) Everson; grandchildren Aidan, Gavin, Sam, Landon, Abbie, & Sawyer; brother Tom (Diane) Everson of Hayward, WI; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Mariann and Judy.
Visitation Tuesday, June 9th from 4PM to 7 PM with a Memorial Service at 7 PM at O’Connell Funeral Home, Hudson.
The family wishes to thank Lakeview Hospital Emergency Department and Hospital Staff for their wonderful care. Memorials will be donated to the Lakeview Health Foundation.
