John Istvanovich passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 surrounded by family at Christian Community Home in Hudson, WI. John was born on January 16, 1932 in St. Paul, MN to parents Baldzar “Bill” Istvanovich and Julia Istvanovich (nee Lewis). He attended Forest Lake High School before working for Whirlpool where he proudly worked for 33 years. He married the love of his life, Margaret O’Hern on June 21, 1958 and together adopted two children. One of John’s big passions in life was fishing, and loved making fishing trips up to Canada. He was also very grateful for his family and loved spending time with them. John will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret; daughters, Michele Hoeft (Ken) and Jennele Benson (Todd); grandchildren Nicole Neubarth (John), Kelsey Ellis (Alex), and Will Hoeft as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.

A Memorial Service to celebrate John’s life will be at 12:00pm on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to the discretion of the family.
