John “Jack” Mizinski, a beloved brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 17, 2026, at the age of 90.
Jack was born on April 22, 1936, in Superior, Wisconsin, to the late Adam “Edge” Mizinski and Helen (Waletzko) Mizinski. He grew up in the close-knit community of Superior and graduated from Superior East High School, where he developed a strong sense of community and lifelong friendships.
Following high school, Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his military service, he built a dedicated and fulfilling career working for the railroad, Superior Fiber Products, and Georgia-Pacific. His strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment were evident in everything he did. Jack took great pride not only in his work but also in providing for and supporting his family.
Jack was a devoted family man. He was preceded in death by his beloved wives, Carol (Erickson) Mizinski and Louise (McMillan) Mizinski, and his daughter, Susan (Mizinski) Gann. Despite these profound losses, Jack remained a constant source of love and strength for his family.
He is survived by his brother, Adam Mizinski; his daughter, Lori (Bruce) Crowley; his son, Jeffrey “Jeff” Mizinski (Sheila) and his cherished grandchildren, Deborah Crowley Burks (Aaron), John Crowley (Syrinda), Trenton (Jacqueline) Mizinski, Cassandra Mizinski (Dustin), Kali Gann (Chad) Miller, and Gracie Gann. He also leaves behind his treasured great-grandchildren, Lily, Paisley, Wyatt, Charlotte, Michael, Luis and Truitt.
Faith was an important part of Jack’s life. He was a devoted member of St. Stanislaus and St. Francis Catholic Churches in Superior, Wisconsin, where he found comfort, strength, and community throughout the years.
Jack enjoyed many hobbies over the course of his life. In his younger years, he loved bowling and hunting, and in later years, he found great joy on the golf course.
In honor of Jack’s life, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to St. Francis Catholic Church in Superior, Wisconsin, continuing his lifelong devotion to his faith and church community.
Visitation 10-11 AM with Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday, June 13th 2026 at St. Francis Xavier, 2316 E. 4th St. Superior.
