Jon Millard Mentink, 70, of Woodville, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019 at his residence.

Jon was born on January 23, 1949 in Baldwin, Wisconsin; the son Jerome & Ruth (Reiton) Mentink.

In 1973, he began his banking career at First Bank of Baldwin. He would work his way through the ranks where he retired as president in 2011. Jon helped build First Bank into the landmark it was. Jon built relationships on trust and a handshake. Many businesses were given opportunities as he saw the potential in others. He created countless connections and customers that he cherished to this day. On November 10, 1973 he married his best friend; Jean Kuchenbaker at Zion Lutheran Church in Woodville. They were blessed with 3 sons; Jeff (Allison), Joe (Ann) and Jim (Beth). Jon will be remembered for a man who loved God. Although Jon could wear a suit and tie, he thoroughly enjoyed putting his overalls and putzing around the farm. He enjoyed being around others and offering his witty humor and story telling.

Jon is survived by his loving wife, Jean; sons Jeff (Allison), Joe (Ann) and Jim (Beth); eight grandchildren; Jeff’s: Tyler, Dominic, Peyton, & Wyatt; Joe’s: Grace & Garett; Jim’s: Jerome & Eva. He is further survived by his siblings; Christy (Ernie) Aden, Tim (Kathy), Dave (Joan), & Linda (Keith) Miller; & his sister-in-law, Joan (Scott) Iverson & many nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry & Ruth Mentink; & his parents-in-law, John & Leona Kuchenbaker.

The Funeral for Jon will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 22, 2019 at First Reformed Church in Baldwin. A Visitation will take place from 3-7:00 PM, Friday, June 21, 2019 at O’Connell Funeral Family Funeral Home in Baldwin, as well as one-hour prior to the funeral at First Reformed Church Saturday morning. Memorials preferred to the discretion of the family. A Private Interment will be at a later date.
