Joshua Allan Vitek (“Vee”), age 42, passed away unexpectedly at Regions Hospital in St. Paul on January 26, 2026. Born on September 19, 1983, in Ashland, Wisconsin, Joshua was a beloved Son, Father, Brother, Fiancé and Friend. He graduated from Hudson High School in 2002 and worked as a maintenance mechanic by trade. He approached life with a hands-on attitude, always finding a way to fix what was broken.
Joshua, affectionately known as "Grumpy" by his granddaughter, was a true individual who embraced life on his own terms. His warmth and charm, often wrapped in a lovable gruffness, drew people to him in a way that only he could manage.
Josh loved the outdoors and hunting. He also found joy in bowling and played on a few softball teams when he was younger. He also was a dedicated fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers.
Josh is survived by his parents Rich and Pam Vitek; his children, Aubrey and Jackson Vitek; granddaughter, Sydney Mae Larson; fiancée Jill Steffens; sister, Breanna (Kevin Novak) Vitek; brother, Jordan Vitek; niece, Raine Moloney; grandparents LeRoy and Charlotte Vitek and Barbara Ferrando, along with many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Ferrando and Grandson Lucas.
A memorial service for Joshua will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 1pm at O'Connell Funeral Home in Hudson, WI, with visitation directly after, until 3pm.
