Joyce Marie Merimonti

Joyce Marie Merimonti, 86 of Ellsworth, WI passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Joyce was born on March 25, 1940, in Red Wing, MN to Willie and Margaret (Mann) Firl.

Joyce had many part time jobs while attending Ellsworth High School. After graduation in 1958, she worked for Lord Abstract Co for nine years and then worked for Pierce County in the Register of Deeds office for 36 years, until her retirement in 2004.

In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed watching her favorite game shows on TV; Wheel of Fortune and Price Is Right, playing Euchre, as well as cheering for the Badgers, Brewers and the Packers.

She is survived by her son Steve (Jennifer) Merimonti; of Grapevine, TX; grandchildren, Erin, Megan; and numerous nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Margaret Firl; sister, Albertha (Birdie) Plein and her stepfather Lavern “Chuck” Hewitt.

The family would like to thank Mel and all the staff at Welcome Home Assisted Living of Elmwood for taking such good care of Joyce.

Private interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Ellsworth.
