Joyce Olson

Joyce Olson, age 88 of Spring Valley died Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral service for Joyce will be Wednesday, December 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Spring Lake Lutheran Church, Spring Valley, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service at church.

Burial will be in the Gilman Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Valley, Wisconsin.

Joyce Olson, age 88, of Spring Valley, died Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Joyce was born April 26, 1926, the daughter of Juel and Ida (Ashleson) Julson at Baldwin, Wisconsin.  She was baptized at her home and was a member of Gilman Lutheran Church for many years and has been a member of Spring Lake Lutheran Church since about 1950.
Joyce attended Spring Valley Schools graduating with the Class of 1945.  After high school she attended college at River Falls for a year.  She got a job at the courthouse in Ellsworth and worked for Pierce County Social Services. She worked for 45 years before retiring in April 1991.
On March 15, 1950 Joyce married Harvey Olson.  They were blessed with one son Greg.  Joyce was active in the Ladies Aid at church and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son Greg.
She is survived by a cousin Craig Ashleson of Glenwood City, and nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Joyce is Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Spring Lake Lutheran Church with Rev D Peter Friberg officiating.  Burial will be in Gilman Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Valley.
Pallbearers are Bob Sebion, Byron Anderson, Bruce Murray, Terry Odalen, Nathan Odalen, and Pat Laughnan.
