In memory of Karen Aamodt, age 81, who died of ovarian cancer at her home on May 2. She was well-known as the founder and owner of MUSIC DISC on East Hampden for 40 years, the last ten years dealing with mail orders only.
Karen was born in Stoughton, Wisconsin, the fourth daughter of Otis and Clara (Kvaase) Aamodt, now deceased, as is her oldest sister Agnes. As a child she lived with Aunt Inga Danielson, Uncle Henry and their children. She attended Lone Balsam School and was further educated at Bethany Lutheran College and Mankato (MN) State University. She is survived by sisters Joan Draeb of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, Virginia Hecht of Tucson, Arizona, and the Danielson counsins Clifford, Esther Mims and Alma Neiderhauser, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Karen's request, no service will be held in Denver. A graveside service at the family plot in Spring Valley Wisconsin will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions will be gratefully accepted by Bethany Lutheran College (700 Luther Drive, Mankato, MN 56001), Gilman Lutheran Church (N232 McKay Ave, Spring Valley, WI 54767), or Colorado Public Radio (www.cpr.org).
