Karen Louise Rada, age 77 passed away on July 19, 2016 after a long illness.

Karen was born in Minneapolis, MN, on April 19, 1939, to Edward and Jean Sites.  Karen moved to South St. Paul with her family and then to Inver Grove Heights when she married and had children.  Karen worked briefly for Honeywell and then moved to St. Paul where she began her 3M career in Human Resources.  While working at 3M, Karen met her husband Warren.  Karen and Warren were united in marriage March 28, 1980 in Woodbury, MN.  They retired together and had a winter home in Naples, Florida and a summer home in Hudson, Wisconsin.

Karen was a zealous reader.  She enjoyed socializing with her wide circle of friends, playing bridge, walking and taking care of her garden.  She was a good cook and loved cooking for friends and family.

Karen is survived by her children: William (Regina) Hickey, Susan (Phil) Listerud, Stephen (Rocio) Hickey, Michelle Martenson, and Stephen (Dawn) Rada; grandchildren: Matthew Listerud, Mark Listerud, Natasha Volkenant, Branden Hickey, Cory Rada, Alexandria Rada, Zachary Martenson, and Sarah Martenson; great-grandchildren: Noelle, Lily, and Lucas Listerud; siblings: Gail (George) Krasean, Nancy (Glen) Melton, Peggy (Rick) Holland, and Dan (Verda) Sites; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; grandson, Nathaniel Listerud; son-in-law, Dale Martenson; and her parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, WI.  A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place one hour prior to the service. Private interment at the Willow River Cemetery in Hudson. Memorials are requested to the National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota, 5905 Golden Valley Rd, Suite 237, Golden Valley, MN 55422.
