Kathleen Porter

Kathleen Patricia Porter, age 87 of Hudson, WI, passed away September 20, 2015 at Comforts of Home in Hudson.  Kay was born April 30, 1928 in Stillwater, MN, the daughter of  August and Irene (Dougherty) Jesse.  She graduated from Stillwater High School, the Class of 1946.  She was united in marriage to Spencer McLean Porter.  Their marriage was blessed with three children, Mary Kay, Ann and Spencer.  Kay worked as a technician in the Operating Room at the Hospital for over 20 years.

In her quiet time, Kay enjoyed quilting and reading.  She especially took an interest in reading British murder mysteries.  Kay was an exceptional cook and took great pride in giving her family wonderful holiday meals and traditions that will forever be treasured.  She had a loving heart for animals, always caring for the families pets.  She cherished her time on the lake with her family, enjoying pontoon rides and the laughter and company of those around her.

Kay will remain in the hearts of her daughters, Mary (Jay) Clemens of River Falls and Ann Porter of Honolulu, HI; son, Spencer (Shawn) Porter of North Hudson; grandchildren, Brandon (Stephanie) Rivard and Amy (Rob) O’Neal; great grandchildren:  Connor, Caitlyn and Callie O’Neal, and Olive Rivard;  as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer; siblings, Jim & Bill Jesse and Mary Rose Cameron; and her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Friday, September 25, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to Mass at church.  Interment will take place at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.  Memorials preferred to The Hudson Community Food Shelf, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or Comforts of Home.
