Kenneth K. Bromen

Kenneth K. Bromen, age 70 of Maiden Rock WI, died on Sunday, November 8, 2020. Ken was born February 1, 1950 in Glenwood MN to parents Louis and Helen (nee Reznechek) Bromen. Ken grew up in Brooten MN and attended Brooten High School. Ken was united in marriage to his wife Joann on October 16, 1987.

Ken worked as a steel worker for over 45 years with North Star Steel. Outside of work, Ken enjoyed trap shooting with family, Ford Model T’s, working on tractors, and singing karaoke. Ken always had a song in his heart, and a smile on his face for his family and friends. He will be missed by many.

Ken is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joann; his children, Shawn (Amy) Bromen, and Heather Smirnov; grandchildren, Kala (Nate) Smirnov, Emily (Erek) Rogstad, Joey Crock, Maddie Bromen, and Jackson Bromen; great-grandchildren, Raelyn, Tucker, and Brynlee; brother, Everett; sister, Joyce Odegaard; beloved dogs Peanut and Gizzy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Crock; his parents; brothers, Harvey, Earney, and Phillip; and sisters, Judy and Alice.

To honor Ken’s wishes, a gathering of family and friends will take place from 10:00am-12:00 noon on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the O’Connell-Benedict Funeral Home, 130 N. Grant St. in Ellsworth. A celebration of life will also be held, starting at 1:00pm, at Mike’s Bay Town, W6454 State Road 35, in Bay City, WI.
