It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Carl Peterson, a devoted farmer, loving husband, and cherished family man, who departed this life on October 1, 2026. Born on July 16, 1933, in Hammond Township, Wisconsin. Ken attended Lincoln school, and graduated in1952 from Baldwin High School.
Ken lived a life rich in hard work and dedication, spending his days tending to the land and caring for his livestock on the family farm in Baldwin, Wisconsin.
Ken was known for his stubborn determination and steadfast nature, traits that served him well in both his profession and his personal life. He spent nearly all of his life in the same home, with the exception of a short time in a nearby trailer just fifty feet away-an emblem of his deep-rooted connection to the land he loved. Farming was not just his livelihood; it was his passion and a profoundly woven part of his identity. Ken was a man of few words, strong faith, and liked a firm handshake. He also loved to make the coffee rounds to Value, the fire hall, and Kwik Trip. Ken was involved in many organizations and boards including the BW School Board, President of Farmers Elevator Board and helped implement the building of the grain silos, Town of Hammond Supervisor and Chairman for over 20 years, the St. Croix Electric Board, President of the United Fire District Board, and Trustee of Gethsemane Church Board. Ken sold Jacques Seed Corn for many years. Ken and Louise enjoyed traveling to many domestic and international destinations.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Louise, his steadfast companion for 68 years, who weathered every season of life, from the brightest days to the quietest storms. He leaves behind his children, his proudest harvest. Janice (Ray) Constantine, Larry (Lisa) Peterson, Troy (Annette) Peterson, Jeffrey (Jodi) Peterson, and Lance (Anissa) Peterson. Kenneth was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, doting on his grandchildren Abby (Phil), Holly (Andy), April (Brian), Aaron, Derek, Daniel, Katie, Krysta (Adam), Anna, Jarin, Madison (Bryce), Lilly, Brody, and Bailey (Eric), and his great-grandchildren Toren, Athena, Leo, Claire, Allison, Annie, Violet, and baby girl Dorwin. Also survived by sister-in-law Eilene (Lloyd) Kilman and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents Carl Peterson and Myrtle Peterson, and siblings Richard (Evelyn) Peterson, Betty (Gerald) Plourde, Marjorie (Frank) VanSomeren, and Priscilla (Harold) Chapel, sister-in-law Ardyth (Ray) Wynveen.
The Baldwin Care Center was home to Ken for over five years. We greatly appreciate all the staff that became an important part of his family and ours.
