Krisan Kae Shaw, 53, of River Falls, Wisconsin, entered the joyful presence of her Savior on Thursday, August 6, 2026, after faithfully and courageously living with breast cancer for twenty years.
Born on August 20, 1972, in Vesper, Wisconsin, to Lenard W. and Myrna A. Shaw, Krisan lived a life marked by faith, service, creativity, and joy. She graduated from Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School, attended the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota, graduating first in her class.
Dentistry was one of Krisan's greatest gifts. After beginning her career at Main Street Family Dental in River Falls, she opened her own practice, Shaw Family Dental, in Ellsworth in 2006. She believed every patient deserved kindness, compassion, and a reason to smile, and she considered the relationships she built far more important than the building she worked in.
Nothing, however, meant more to Krisan than her faith and her family. She cherished her husband, Paul, and found her greatest joy in raising their daughters, Jordan and Alison. She often said becoming a mother taught her the true meaning of selfless love.
Krisan had a remarkable ability to find beauty in everyday life. Whether tending her garden, riding her bicycle, traveling, camping, kayaking, creating art, or studying God's Word, she approached everything with gratitude and enthusiasm. She was known for choosing joy, serving others without hesitation, and encouraging everyone she met. Friends often left her presence feeling lighter, more hopeful, and more loved.
Her favorite verse was James 4:8: "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." It was more than a favorite Scripture—it was the way she lived.
Krisan is survived by her husband, Paul Laube; daughters, Jordan Laube and Alison Laube; parents, Lenard and Myrna Shaw; brothers, Kevin Shaw, Loren Shaw, and Mike Shaw; and countless relatives, friends, church family, and patients whose lives were forever brighter because of her kindness.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026—what would have been Krisan's 54th birthday—from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at O'Connell Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Services in Hudson. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Woodbury Lutheran Church – Valley Creek Campus, followed by a luncheon. Burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. in Withee, Wisconsin. The service will be livestreamed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made in Krisan's honor. All memorial donations will be directed to the River Falls High School Band and River Falls High School Softball programs, organizations that were meaningful to her and her family.
