Lamont 'Monty' John Heilman

Lamont 'Monte' Heilman, age 62 of River Falls, Wisconsin, formerly of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, died June 1, 2026 at his residence following a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Monte was born on November 21, 1963 in West Allis, Wisconsin; the son of Sylvester and Sherry (Thurber) Heilman. He was raised in West Allis, before the family moved to Sun Prairie as a young boy, where he graduated from high school in the class of 1982. A few years later, he would meet and marry the former Patricia Miller on October 1, 1988 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie. This union would bring two children into this world; Jamie and Steven.

The majority of Monty's career was in the wholesale paint business. He worked in wholesale paint sales as a sales representative for companies such as Mautz Paints in Madison, Wisconsin, and later Hallman Lindsay Paints in Sun Prairie. He also managed real estate and most recently worked for All Seasons Rental in Hudson.

Monte had a larger-than-life personality; he loved to laugh, loved his friends and made new friends wherever he went. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, especially of the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. His children and grandchildren, Lennie and Matty were the apple of his eye. They brought a smile to his face; he loved hearing about their adventures and watching them grow. At the house, you could see him parked on the chair with his two dogs, Ace and Jax watching a rerun of Seinfeld, Matlock or the History Channel. He was a lover of music; you could find him around the house with earbuds listening to classic rock ranging from Mötley Crüe, April Wine to Elvis. He also loved listening to old school Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. Growing up, he enjoyed listening to vinyl records and recently was gifted a turntable from his brother where he once again enjoyed listening to his favorite bands on record.

Monte is survived by his loving wife, Patty; children, Jamie (Brantley) Grekoff, Steven Heilman; granddaughter Lennon and grandson Matty; parents Sylvester and Sherry Heilman; brother Craig (Brenda) Heilman, Stephanie (John) Chitwood; father-in-law, Russell Miller, brothers-in-law/sister-in-law Sheryl Playter, Dan (Jennifer) Miller, and Jim (Diana) Miller. He is preceded in death by his mother-in-law Carol Miller.

A Celebration of Life for Monte Heilman will be Saturday, June 6th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Prairie Pines Golf Course at 3039 Happy Valley Road in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin 53590.
