Larry A. Wubbels

Larry Allen Wubbels, age 73, of Baldwin, WI, passed away on December 21, 2012 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Larry was born on July 3, 1939 in Baldwin, WI to Harl Kenneth and Dorothy Florence (Brummels) Wubbels. He attended East Baldwin Elementary and graduated from Baldwin High School. On July 17, 1959 he married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Ann Nelson at Baldwin Lutheran Church. Larry worked at the St. Croix Electric Co-Op for 46 years, retiring in 1999.

Larry was a talented wood-worker. He loved making knick-knacks and keepsakes with his scroll saw. Vegetable gardening was also a passion of his. He was a big Packer and Badger fan.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly of Baldwin; son Lance (Celie) Wubbels of Billings, MT; daughter, Cary (Scott) Oehlke of Woodville, WI; grand-children, Luke (Laren) Oehlke of Glenwood City, WI, Bryce Oehlke of Woodville, WI, and Betsy (Trent Schug) Oehlke of Brainard, MN; great-grandchildren, Lexie and Logan; and sister, Sharon (Marshall) Blok of Baldwin, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 26 from 4-7p.m. at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Private family burial. Memorials given to family will be directed toward the Mayo Cancer Research Center.
