Larry Potter, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away on May 20, 2026 in Saint Croix Falls, Wisconsin at the age of 82.

Larry was born to Harold and Lorraine Potter on August 5,1943 in Portland, Maine. His school years were spent in St. Louis Park, Hopkins, and finally Excelsior, Minnesota where he developed many lifelong friendships. He graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1961.

Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Bridge Quartermaster. After serving in the Navy, he earned his Private Pilot Certificate with the goal of one day having a career as a pilot. But life took a different course. He moved to Baldwin, Wisconsin in 1972 and became Assistant Manager at the Bobber Café. This is where he first met Deb, the love of his life. They married on March 25, 1979 and together built a life of love and cherished memories.

Larry became a restaurant owner as his career. He owned the Pizza Platter in Shorewood, Grays Bay Tavern and Restaurant in Minnetonka, and finally The Blue Line Café and Travel Center in Worthington, Minnesota. The Blue Line was his special pride and joy in his career life. He designed the restaurant/truck stop himself and was involved in its operation for 23 years. He enjoyed meeting customers and developing relationships with the people there who helped make his business successful. He retired in 2022.

In his free time Larry liked to golf and bicycle. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, traveling, and especially anything involving family.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Debra; his children Danyelle (Will) Prouty, Timothy (Grace) Potter, Megan (Raphael) Potter, five grandchildren, and his sister Jill Conson. He was preceded in death by his sisters Nancy and Judy, and his parents.

Visitation will be held Tuesday May 26 from 12pm to 1pm, with Memorial Service at 1pm. O’Connell Funeral Home 1010 Newton St., Baldwin Wisconsin.
