Laurna Johnson

Laurna Lou Johnson, age 83 of Hudson, died peacefully on April 5, 2019 at Comforts of Home in Hudson.

Laurna was born on March 26, 1936 in Melrose, Wisconsin on the family farm to Lawrence and Lillian (Affeldt) Olson. She attended Melrose High School in Wisconsin and graduated with the Class of 1954. On August 21, 1954, Laurna was united in marriage to Bruce Johnson and together they were blessed with two children, Allen and Paula. Laurna worked at the Weatherby Cranberry Factory in Warrens in her younger years; a job she thought back on fondly as the best job she had. After moving to Hudson, Laurna worked downtown at the Super Value grocery store. When it closed, she then took a position at Nor-Lake, being one of the 1st women to work in the factory. She spent nearly 20 years as a Break Operator there.

Laurna enjoyed bowling with a group of women that ended up very close to her over the years. She also savored her trips to Las Vegas and later weekly trips to local casinos where she enjoyed the company of the servers at the buffet. More than anything in the world, Laurna loved and adored her family. They brought her great joy and pride.

Laurna will forever remain in the hearts of her husband, Bruce of 65 years; son, Allen (Ellen) Johnson of La Crosse, WI; daughter, Paula (Bill) Kotz of Hudson, WI; grandson, Patrick Kotz; granddaughters, Emily Kotz, Amanda (Drew) Bakkestuen, and Lynn (Ryan) Wolle; great grandchildren, Brynna, Kylie, Claire, and Grace; many nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.

Laurna was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Lillian Olson; brother, Gordon Olson; sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Jack Clouse; nieces, Debbie Clouse and Barbara Klatt.
