Lawrence P. “Larry” Gosselin, age 82 of Somerset WI, died peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family. Larry was born on September 3, 1932 in Ulga ND, the son of Archibald and Victoria (Dumas) Gosselin. Larry attended schools in Ulga, and later enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country during the Korean Conflict. Larry would be united in marriage to Sheila Joyce Ryan on July 18, 1976.
Larry was a carpenter, and was self-employed for many years. Larry also loved a good word search puzzle, card games, dice, and puzzles. Larry was known as an animal lover, who loved spending time bird watching. Above all though, Larry was a dedicated family man, who loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He will be missed dearly by his family and a multitude of friends.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sheila of Somerset WI; daughters, Robin (Jerry) Lyman of St. Paul MN, Lu Monette of Stillwater MN, Cindy (Bob) Nowicki of St. Paul MN, and Dawn (Donny) John of Stacy MN; sons, Glen Gosselin of Eau Claire WI, and Doug (Karie) Magnuson of Houlton WI; grandchildren, Shane Lyman, Moni Lyman, Jennifer, Michelle, Michael, Phyllis Jean, Josh (Lisa), Jason (Tiffany), Stephanie (Palmer), Stacy (Jesse), Ashlee (Marcus), Nick, Keith, Nathan, and Natalee; sisters, Jean (Bob) Hanson, Rose, and Diane; brothers Ricky Gosselin, Renee (Kathy) Gosselin, and Larry Gosselin; brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Sharon (Bob) Thell, Sandra (Gary) Weis, Roger (Marsha) Ryan, and Randall (Diana) Ryan; good friends, John and Maggie DeRosier of Houlton WI, Lynn and Deanna Carlson, Marcia Boyd, Bob Simpson, Dina VanPelt, Lud and Ilene Blagan, Kelly and Rick Russell, Marge Metzdorff and dog Molly; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 11th Street South in Hudson. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson WI, and the Countryside Crematory. 715-386-3725
