Leon Henry Meixner

Leon Henry Meixner, age 75, of Ellsworth, WI passed away peacefully Saturday October 9, 2021 at Ellsworth Care Center. Leon was born on July 10, 1946 in Durand, WI to Leo and Clara (Brunner) Meixner. Leo married the love of his life Carolyn Jacobson on October 10, 1970 in Ellsworth, WI.

Leon was an honest hard working man. He enjoyed working on his brother’s farm and taking care of calves. During his free time, he was rather fond of fishing. His favorite thing to do was spend time with Carolyn and their multiple beloved pets over the years. He also enjoyed music and polka.

Leon was survived by his wife of 51 years Carolyn, siblings: Micheal, Lorraine, and Francis, brother-in-law: Richard Jacobson and Bud Rehder, and sister-in-laws: Adeline (Bernie) Schroeder and Elaine (Ron) Edlund and many other relations. He was preceded in death with his parents, Leo and Clara Meixner, In-Laws: Harold and Elsie Jacobson, siblings: Fredrick, George, Jerome, Katheryn and Charles, sister-in-laws: Kathy Jacobson, Dorothy Rehder, Helen Jacobson, and brother-in-law: Harry Jacobson and Herb Jacobson.

Funeral service for Leon Meixner will be at 3:00pm Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Bethel Covenant Church in rural Ellsworth. A visitation will be at 1:00pm to 3:00pm, October 14, 2021 at Bethel Covenant. Late lunch to follow the funeral service.

A special thank you to the Ellsworth EMTs, ambulance drivers, and to the wonderful staff at the Ellsworth Health Care facility, and the hospice caregivers for taking good care of Leon in his final months.
