Hudson

Lillian René Schultz (née Valley), born on January 22, 1945, in Sacramento, California, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Hudson, Wisconsin. She was 80 years old.

Lillian moved from California to Wisconsin with Richard, Brian, & Amy in 1974 where they raised their family. Lillian’s life was marked by her deep devotion to family and her generous spirit. Over the years, she dedicated herself to a variety of roles that reflected her caring nature and strong work ethic. She began her professional journey with United Crusade, St. Croix Central Elementary, Roberts Cafe and later spent several years at Minnesota Mutual. Eventually, she found her true calling as a daycare provider and then caregiver for her grandchildren—a role she embraced with love and joy.

Her home was always filled with warmth, creativity, and kindness. Lillian had a passion for gardening and took great pride in cultivating a vibrant array of plants and flowers. Her love for crafting was evident in the beautiful items she created through crocheting, card making, and other artistic endeavors. These talents were not only hobbies but gifts she lovingly passed down to her children and grandchildren during countless shared adventures and quiet afternoons together. She was a lifelong animal lover who found joy and companionship in all living creatures.

Lillian is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Richard; son Brian and his children Brendon Schultz (Elisa) and Summer (Austin) Nack; daughter Amy (Patrick) Drews and their daughters Shelby and Makayla. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Ella and Greyson Nack, and Archer Schultz—each of whom brought immense joy to her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister Marjul (Mark) Pawelczyk and brother Raymond (Margie) Valley; brothers-in-law Bill (Margo) Schultz and Joe (Cindy) Schultz; sisters-in-law Diane (John) Washburn, Betty Schultz, Mary Schultz, Diane Schultz, and several nieces & nephews.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Wanda Valley; father-in-law and mother-in-law Reuben and Margaret Schultz; sister-in-law Molly Schultz; brothers-in-law John Schultz, Roger Schultz and Ron Boenish; and nephew Nate Schultz.

Lillian’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for family. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
