Linda Louisa (Schwallick) Seifert, age 87, of Prescott, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.
Linda was born on April 16, 1939, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Kasper and Katherine (Dirk) Schwallick. In 1961, she was united in marriage to Paul Matthias Seifert. Together, they shared 58 years of marriage and built a beautiful life filled with love, family, travel, and countless memories. Their union was blessed with five children: Matthias, Catherine, Krista, Linda, and Paula.
Linda worked for many years as a factory worker at Smead Manufacturing, but her greatest joy and most cherished roles were those of wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family was at the center of Linda’s life. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and was truly the heart of her family. Her love, kindness, and laughter brought everyone together and created memories that will be treasured forever.
Linda found happiness in the simple things. She enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, crocheting, gardening, caring for her houseplants, and had a special fondness for Siamese cats. She also loved collecting her dollies. Her grandchildren would tease her that some of them were “creepy,” which always made Linda laugh. She loved watching musicals and sharing her favorite movies with her children and grandchildren. Dick Van Dyke was one of her favorites, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang became a family staple that holds a special place in the hearts of those who watched it with her.
Linda and Paul also shared a love of travel and enjoyed many wonderful trips together across the United States and Europe. These adventures became treasured memories of the life they shared.
Linda leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the many lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, her family will forever cherish her love, laughter, and the little moments that made life with her so special. Her place as the heart of her family will never be forgotten.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her children: Matthias (Kathy) Seifert of Prescott, Catherine Seifert of River Falls, Krista (Eric) Mitzuk of Wheeler, Linda (Van) Stockwell of Prescott, and Paula Seifert of River Falls; her grandchildren, Brie, Morgan (Kyle), and Deven Seifert; Selah, Kyle, Deven, and Kaiden Stockwell; her great-grandchildren, Dylan and Dean Seifert, CJ Stockwell, Reni Langer, and Lincoln Paul Swanson; her siblings, Emma (Gene) Peterson, Larry (Sandy) Schwallick, and Katherine (Jack) Lenz; her nieces, Andrea, Cassie, and Wendy; and her nephews, Joe S., Ernie, Sam, Joe M., and David, along with many other extended family members and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul; her parents, Kasper and Katherine Schwallick; her brothers, Oscar and Joe Schwallick; and other family members who went before her.
A service to celebrate Linda’s life will take place at Joy Lutheran Church in Prescott, Wisconsin, with Pastor Melissa Hrdlicka officiating on August 29, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the service following at 11:00 a.m. Coffee, cake, and bars will be served during visitation.
