Lois Francis

Lois Ruth Francis, age 83 of Roberts, died Thursday July 3, 2014 at her residence.

Lois was born on October 8, 1930 in Garfield Heights, Ohio; the daughter of John and Margaret (Matthews) Knapp. She was raised and attended school in Ohio. On May 27, 1949, she was united in marriage to Glenn E. Francis in Stillwater, Minnesota. This union would be blessed with seven children.

Lois was a devoted homemaker who also enjoyed working alongside Glenn on their farm.  She took pleasure in entertaining family and friends; especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. When her children were young she was a 4H Leader, Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School teacher.  She loved to find something she ‘couldn’t live without’ at area garage sales. She also liked to cook and can, do craft work, paint, and bake cakes for weddings and birthdays. Many will remember Lois as their Avon rep as she did this for many years.

Lois will remain in the hearts of her children Rosemary (Steve) Forsyth of FL, Gene (Helen) Francis of FL, Barbara Nestrud of AR, Karen Garden of Roberts, Jenny (Fermin) Morales of GA, Raymond (Janet) Francis of FL, Robert Francis of Somerset; twenty grandchildren; and many great grandchildren; her sister, Jean Tippen of OH, and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn, sisters Margaret Fennell, Joan Oreskovic, and her brother John Knapp.

A memorial service for Lois will be 10AM Friday July 11th at Faith Community Church, 777 Carmichael Road in Hudson. She will be laid to rest with her husband at a private burial. Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Homes and Countryside Crematory.
