Lonnie G. Feuerhelm

d. July 11, 2018

Lonnie Feuerhelm, age 68 of Ellsworth WI, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Lonnie was born May 15, 1950 in Decorah IA to parents Ronald and Bernadine (Clancy) Feuerhelm. Lonnie graduated from Ellsworth High School with the Class of 1968, and went on to earn his Bachelors degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin River Falls. He would be united in marriage to Margaret Mary “Peg” Foy on June 13, 1970 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Red Wing. This union would be blessed with five children, nine grandchildren, and over forty-eight years of love and devotion.

Lonnie formed the Certified Public Accounting firm of Feuerhelm Langer Ltd in 1983. He was deeply rooted in the Ellsworth community, serving as a board member of the Hunger Prevention Council of Pierce County, the Pierce Pepin Cooperative, and the Ellsworth Community School Foundation. He was a great advocate, promoter and sponsor for all things involving the Ellsworth community. Lonnie was also a member of the Ellsworth Rod & Gun Club, the Masons, and the Lions Club. He cherished time spent with his family and friends at the lake cabin, and enjoyed traveling, golfing, fishing, John Wayne movies, the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and grilling. Lonnie was a renowned joke teller, who even donated his comedic services for a standup routine in El Paso as a fundraiser for breast cancer. Though he’ll be missed by many, Lonnie’s fun-loving side would give you a smile and want you to remember “It’s 5 o’clock somewhere!”.

Lonnie is survived by his loving wife, Peg; his children, Matt (Kerry), Kit (Cindy), Shannon, Gabe (Katie), and Josh (Heidi); grandchildren, Kody (Casey), Jonah, Natalie, Erica, Nora, Lucy, June, Ruby, and Fletcher; his mother, Bernadine; his brothers, Dannie, Rickie, Jamie, and Scott, and sisters, Kathi, Nanette, Tambi, Kim, and Beth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald; and parents-in-law, Robert and Berniece Foy.
