Loretta “Bonnie” Raymond

Loretta “Bonnie” Raymond (nee: Bommer), age 75, of Hudson, WI, passed away on April 30, 2013 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Bonnie was born on November 13, 1937 to Gerald and Josephine (Turnis) Bommer in North Ridgeville, Ohio. She grew up in North Ridgeville with her sister, Joyce, and graduated from North Ridgeville High School. In 1960, she was united in marriage to Ronald Raymond in San Diego, CA, a marriage that would be blessed with two sons, Ron and Bill.

Bonnie was an avid gardener, and loved all things about the farm life. She loved taking care of the animals, the beef cattle and the geese. She enjoyed caring for her dogs and feeding birds. She was a member of the Nike Neighbors Church Group, Nike Homemakers Club, and participated in Roberts’s Good Neighbor Days. She was also known for being on the Board of Deacons at First Presbyterian Church in Hudson. She was a dedicated employee at County Market for many years, working in the deli department. She was also very fond of the Minnesota State Fair, and participated in the St. Croix County Fair.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ronald of Hudson, WI; children, Ron (Kathy) Raymond of Roberts, WI and Bill (Charlene) Raymond of South St. Paul, MN; grandchildren: Luke & Ben Raymond of Roberts, WI, Marcus (Melissa) Raymond of Hugo, MN, and Olivia, Laura, and Gabrielle Raymond of South St. Paul, MN; and sister, Joyce (Joe) Solomon of North Ridgeville, OH. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation for Bonnie will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, Hudson, WI. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1901 Vine St., Hudson, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Private family interment will take place at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the St. Croix Animal Friends.
