Lori Gunderson

Our loving wife, mom, and daughter, Lori Gunderson passed away on July 2, 2025 peacefully at her home with family. Lori was born on June 13, 1962 to Jerry and Betty (Hanson) Pederson in Kenosha, WI. There she turned 13 on Friday the 13th, and has always had luck with the number 13. She graduated Tremper High School in 1980 and met her soulmate Scott the same year working at Burger Chef. They married in 1987, enjoying 45 years together in Kenosha, Aurora, Il; Prescott, WI; Hudson, WI; and River Falls, WI.

Lori devoted many years to raising her two children, Courtney and Ashe, and acting as caregiver to her husband Scott while he faced three rounds of cancer, and a heart attack. She provided endless love and care for her family. They could not have felt more loved.

Lori loved feeding birds, specifically blue birds, and fed them fresh, home-raised mealworms every day in the spring for many years. Lori valued nature, including the critters who visited her yard, and the dear pets she kept inside. Lori and Scott enjoyed day trips, biking local trails, and visiting zoos - and she made sure to collect a smashed penny anywhere she could (collecting over 300!). Lori was an active member at Bethel Lutheran Church for many years and was guided by faith. Anyone who knew Lori would have known her as kind, generous, thoughtful, organized, and full of love.

Lori is survived by her loving husband, Scott Gunderson, children Courtney (and partner Jordan) and Ashe, parents Betty and Jerry Pederson, brother Dale Pederson, sister-in-law Cathleen (and husband Chuck) McVay, brother-in-law Arthur Grant, and beloved dog, Milo Gunderson.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, Lori wished for donations to an organization that served others. Lori valued the mission Operation HELP and both donated and volunteered time to directly support her community. Her legacy of generosity will be cherished and carried forth by her family.
