Lorraine Marie Gavin

Lorraine Marie Gavin, age 92, of River Falls, WI died at her home on Monday, April 3, 2017. She was born in Oak Grove Township, Pierce County, WI (Big River) on May 8, 1924 to Joseph and Bessie (Andrle) Buss. She was a graduate of Prescott High School. On October 9, 1945 she was united in marriage to William Nicholas Gavin at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Lorraine was a member of the Glass Valley Homemakers Club for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William; her daughter, Sue Huppert; brother, Melvin Buss; sisters, Mabel Harris and Dolores Hawkins.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Pat (Bob) Girardi, Carol (Gary) Hildebrandt, Gordon Gavin; grandchildren, Michelle Huppert, Kim Maier, Kelly Horvath, John Huppert, William Hildebrandt, Joseph Hildebrandt; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Buss; sister, Betty Cowan; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2017, St. Mary’s Catholic Church-Big River, River Falls, WI. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. at the church, preceding the Mass. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
