Lyle Grove

Lyle Earl Grove 89, died on July 5, 2014 at the Lutheran Home in River Falls.He was born December 1, 1924 in Gordon, NE to John Earl and Clara Lucille (Carpenter) Grove. After graduation he entered the Navy and served in the South Pacific. He then attended Warner Pacific College in Portland, OR. On August 20, 1948 he married Ruth Seoggan in Scottsbluff, NE.Lyle served on the Greeley Police force from 1955 thru 1957. He then worked at the Greeley Post Office from 1958 to 1989 and retired as a supervisor of delivery and collections.He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Greeley Senior Center and the Keenage Singers. Lyle enjoyed being active in church, gardening, watching sports and singing. He and his wife, Ruth sang with the Keenage Singers for over 17 years. He was a family man and enjoyed doing everything with them.He is preceded in death by his son, Lyle Jr, parents, three sisters; Lois, Marilyn and Irene, two brothers; Donald and John.Lyle is survived by his wife, Ruth of River Falls, daughter, Joy (Ted) Anderson of River Falls, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Cashman-Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services are assisting the family.
